Graphing Quiz Friday

QUIZ FRIDAY!!

For both position vs. time graphs and velocity vs. time graphs, be able to...
- Identify what the slope represents on position and velocity time graphs
- Identify what the area under a velocity vs. time graph represents
- Go back and forth between descriptions of motion and a generalized graph
- Use a motion graph to calculate displacement, velocity, and acceleration

Lessons 3 & 4 on PhysicsClassroom.com are great resource, especially the MOP quizzes located on that site. This quiz will be very similar.

Looking forward to an exciting year!  We'll talk about more details soon, but first, let's get down to business.  You have two homework assignments tonight, due Thursday morning, September 3rd, 8:00 am:

1.  Join the Google Classroom

  • classroom.google.com
  • Log in with @student.medwayschools.org google account (not your personal one)
  • Click + in top right corner
  • Enter class code: jfulki

2.  Student Info Survey

Please spend a few minutes filling out this student info survey (also found on the classroom). You must log in with your @medwayschools.org account (if you haven't already).  Keep an eye on the assignment due date and time. This is due Thursday morning, September 3rd, 8:00 am. Each entry is time-stamped; 8:01 am will be late and 1/2 credit.  Email me if you have difficulties with your @medwayschools.org account. If you need access to a computer, use the library or my room during study hall, before school, or after school.

Egg Drop Project

Who is the egg?  Did it jump?  Was it pushed?  How will it survive the fall?

The next two weeks will find us answering these questions and more as we delve into the

In groups of 3-4, students will design and construct a device in class to allow an egg to survive a fall from approximately 3 stories.  Speaking of stories, students will also collaboratively write an original creative story telling the tale of the egg's epic journey.
