Welcome to Intro Physics!

Welcome parents, students, the Medway community, random blog searchers who stumbled across this to the MEDWAY PHYSICS BLOG!  I can't wait to get started! There is a lot to talk about, but we'll just start with the basics.

WELCOME to the BLOG

This blog will serve as a window for parents and the community to know what is going on here in Intro Physics. We will also utilize It's Learning, a more comprehensive class website, but more on that later. If you have a Google account, feel free to follow, or subscribe by entering your email at the right.

FIRST HOMEWORK

Your first homework assignment of the year is simple:

Two questions:

1. Can you access the internet from home?
2. Tell me something fun about yourself. Why are you awesome?

WHAT DO I NEED?

CLICK HERE for the class syllabus.  We'll go through details later, but if you're going shopping tonight, this course requires the usual suspects:

• basic calculator (square root function)
• something to write with (no red pens, please)
• something to write on
• something to organize papers.

I leave the details up to you. Some people like to keep a notebook and a folder; others would rather keep a binder with loose leaf paper and 3 hole punch everything. Use whatever organizational strategies best suit you.

Finals Posted!

Grades for the finals have been posted.
I'm putting the finishing touches tonight on the quarter 4 grades.

Don't forget your books!

Don't forget your BOOK tomorrow. 

You'll need your BOOK in order to take the final. 

Without your BOOK, you can't take the final. 

Don't forget your BOOK (or a check for $70 made out to Medway High School).

Electromagnetism Take Home Test

The take home test is due on Monday, June 10th for A, E, and G periods. 
D period, yours is due on Tuesday since I did not see you Thursday.

Electromagnetism covers 3 different chapters and one section of 36:

• 32 - Static Electricity
• 34 - Current
• 35 - Series & Parallel Circuits
• 36.5 - Electric Current and Magnetic Fields

Remember to show all your work for the open response questions.  It is open book, open note, open etc.  Use whatever resource you need to learn the material, but make sure that the work on YOUR test is YOUR OWN and no one else's.  There are many versions of the test.  Answers that are carbon copies of one another are easy to spot and will receive no credit.  Use your own words and your own style and you'll be fine.
