This Friday brings the end of the quarter and with it a frenzied sprint to finish things up, turn things in, and get thing graded. Everyone is eager for the dust to settle and know how they did, and I am no excpetion. I am doing my best to plow through the projects, motion labs, momentum labs, HW quizzes, and upcoming tests. With 102 physics students, any individual assignment becomes a significant time investment, but I am working hard to make sure your son or daughter can still receive timely feedback whenever possible. With that in mind, I have been prioritizing any assignment that provides important feedback to the current unit such as HW quizzes and the momentum lab. All classes are testing this Thursday so they need to know where they stand in terms of their understanding of momentum, impulse, and projectiles. Unfortunately, that means I have made slower progress on the projects and motion labs than I would like.
As soon as I finish grading anything it will be up on the portal. A few logistical notes - if you see an assignment graded 1 out of 25 or 1 out of 50, that simply is an easy way for me to keep track of the ones that were turned in. It will be listed in the non-graded category so that it does not affect the overall grade. If a grade is blank or NG, it means I am in the process of grading that class and I didn't want the 1/50 to affect your average. Any assignment I don't have will show up in red as MIS or missing. Those count as a zero until it is turned in. As always, if you notice anything wrong, or just need to double check on something, let me know.
Even though I am adding 102 more tests to it soon, the pile does get
smaller every day and everything will be finished before grades come out
on the 19th. I appreciate your patience as we are both eager to see where our students stand after the 1st quarter.
Thanks,
Jon Jasinski
