All periods
  • Finish the Think 'n' Solves and check your answers on Its Learning.
    • I'm collecting the work that goes with it as a HW grade
    • Redo it until its right, I'll put the best grade on ITS in as an assessment.  You have until Wednesday.
A& B periods

  • Problem Solving Strategies Guide - These problems can't be solved through memorization but through a problem solving strategy.  Keep this for reference and review.
  • FBD Worksheet (other side)- Some practice at the first step of the strategy - indentifying and labeling forces in a Free-Body Diagram

HW Friday, 11-22

A&B periods

  • FBDs and NET FORCE ONLY!  on Ch 5 Think 'n' Solves
  • Don't solve the problem yet, just wrap your head around the situation and forces involved.

E period

  • Submit the Think 'n' Solve Test on ITS Learning, check your answers, and redo it to improve your score.
  • Keep a separate page of your work to turn in on Monday.

HW Thursday, 11-14

All periods:  Complete the calculations for the lab using the data you now have.

  • Measured Acceleration table:
    • Average the times for each trial
    • Calculate the measured accelerations on page 2 using distance and time (a = 2d / t^2)
  • Theoretical acceleration table
    • Total hanging mass starts at 0.06 kg and increases 0.01 for each trial
    • Calculate the weight of the hanging mass in Newtons  (F = mg, with g = 9.8 m/s/s)
    • Total mass is constant (you already figured it out on the previous page)
    • Calculate the theoretical acceleration using force and mass ( a = F / m )
